形态特征：常绿乔木，高可达35米，树冠尖塔形。树皮淡灰褐色，长条片状剥落，大枝平展，小枝下垂。叶鳞形，交互对生，先端尖；小枝上下之叶的背面有纵腺体，两侧之叶折覆着上下之叶的下部；两面均为绿色。球花单生于小枝顶端。球果翌年夏季成熟，球形，直径8-12毫米，熟时褐色。种子长约3毫米，两侧具窄翅。花期3-5月，球果翌年5-6月成熟。
